Gene Hackman, 95, and Wife Betsy Arakawa, 63, Tragically Found Deceased in Home

Iconic actor Gene Hackman, 95, was found dead in his New Mexico home alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 63, and their dog. Santa Fe police have ruled out foul play, but an investigation is ongoing.

Best known for unforgettable roles in Bonnie and Clyde, Superman, and The French Connection, Hackman had a career spanning decades. He won two Oscars, three Golden Globes, and the Cecil B. DeMille Award. He was also nominated for numerous other prestigious awards.

But beyond his immense talent on screen, Hackman was also a dedicated philanthropist. He frequently donated to various charities and organizations, including the American Cancer Society and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Hackman’s passion for giving back extended to his work with environmental causes as well. He was a strong advocate for conservation efforts and served on the board of directors for the National Resources Defense Council.

A former Marine and journalist turned Hollywood legend, Hackman retired from acting after his 2004 film Welcome to Mooseport and spent his remaining years in quiet retirement.

Hackman married Arakawa, a 63-year-old pianist, in 1991. They have a son together named Rio. Hackman and Arakawa are known for their love of music and often attend concerts and festivals together.

Hackman and Arakawa first met in the early 1990s when they were introduced by mutual friends. Despite their age difference, they quickly fell in love and tied the knot in a private ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.
