Boy Claims to Be the Reincarnation of a Hollywood Actor From the 30s

Ryan Hammond, a boy from Oklahoma, made headlines back in 2015 when he claimed to be the reincarnation of a Hollywood figure who passed away decades prior. At the time, Ryan was just ten years old, but his bold statements and vivid descriptions of his past life quickly captured the public.

Ryan first started speaking about his supposed past life when he was as young as three years old. According to his parents, he would wake up in the middle of the night shouting “action!” as if he were on a film set. He also begged his mother on multiple occasions to take him to Los Angeles so he could visit his “other family.” At first, Ryan’s parents brushed off his comments, dismissing them as the overactive imagination of a young child.

Ryan’s memories, however, were surprisingly consistent and detailed. He began describing a life in Hollywood from the 30s to the 50s, complete with vivid recollections of glamorous events and famous figures from the era. Hoping to understand more, Ryan’s mum brought home a book about Hollywood from the library. It was then that the pieces began to fall into place.

Who Did Ryan Think He Was?

While flipping through the pages of the Hollywood book, young Ryan pointed to a photo of actor George Raft and said he had “done a picture” with him. This declaration only added weight to Ryan’s claims. Over time, his recollections became more specific, and it became clear that he was referring to the life of Marty Martyn, a man who had started his career as a movie extra before becoming a successful agent in Hollywood’s bustling entertainment industry.

Marty Martyn lived a fascinating life. He enjoyed the luxury of New York’s elite social circles, took trips to Paris, and was married four times. Tragically, he passed away in 1964 from a brain hemorrhage at the age of 61. Ryan, who was born in 2004, firmly believed he had once lived as Martyn, referring to intricate details of his life that were eerily accurate for someone so young.

When Ryan was six years old, his story caught the attention of a documentary crew. They arranged for him to meet Marty’s daughter and visit various locations in Los Angeles that had connections to the late Hollywood agent. Marty’s daughter confirmed that many of the young boy’s statements about her father’s life were accurate. This included small, intimate details that would be difficult to know without personal experience.

Ryan’s ability to recall specifics raised questions about the nature of memory and the mysteries of reincarnation.
