Ballarat will have two athletes, and possibly a third competing at this Saturday night’s prestigious Maurie Plant meet in Melbourne.
The invitational event is Oceania’s one and only World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meet and is set to attract global talent.
Ashley Anderson from Athletics Victoria says Ballarat high-jumper Yual Reath will compete along with local sprinter Cooper Sherman.
However, Ballarat Gift winner Nyajima Jock is not locked in at this stage but remains hopeful.
“We’re not quite sure about Nyajima at this point in time.”
“Maybe check our socials later in the week to see if her name will pop up there,” Mr. Anderson said.
The one-day meet will be held at Melbourne’s Lakeside Stadium this Saturday.
