Police exodus not happening in Ballarat, says top cop

Despite reports of a senior police exodus, Ballarat’s top cop says we’re not seeing that problem here.

Figures obtained by the Seven Network have found one superintendent, seven inspectors and seven senior sergeants have all recently quit the force.

But Superintendent Frank Sells says interest in joining the police is at a healthy level.

“Policing remains attractive. Victoria Police received just over 600 applications of people wanting to come and join the police, and that was over last week,” he said.
