The number of Ballarat rentals below $400 a week have plummeted since the pandemic.
New data released by PropTrack found overall only 36.5 per cent of Ballarat’s rentals listed on the website realestate.com.au in April were below $400 per week.
The figure is an 11 per cent decrease on the same time last year and an over 46 per cent decrease on March 2020 figures.
The share of Ballarat houses for rent under $400 have dropped from 80.8 per cent in March 2020 to just 29.5 per cent last month.
Units have fared better, with 92.9 per cent of Ballarat units for rent in March of 2020 under $400, compared to 76 per cent last month.
PropTrack’s Market Insight Report says across regional Victoria, the share of rental properties listed for under $400 a week has fallen from 73.4 per cent in March 2020 to 28.8 per cent in April.
