Ballarat gamblers are losing over $170,000 a day, according to new data from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission.
In the last financial year, the commission found Victorians lost over $3 billion on poker machines statewide.
The city was the second biggest loser in regional Victoria, with residents spending over $63 million on the pokies.
It was only topped by the City of Greater Geelong, who recorded losses of almost $136 million.
The City of Brimbank in Melbourne’s northwest recorded the highest pokie machine losses in the state, at over $171 million.
