Ballarat’s disability sector is set for a boost following the recent sale of crown land.
Alfredton-headquartered McCallum Disability Services is buying the land off the Government after years of negotiations.
The organisation will build between four and five houses for supported accommodation.
CEO of McCallum, Tyrone McCuskey, says the land is located near their current facility.
“I appreciate the State Government declaring this land being in excess to their needs and actually freeing it up now,” he said.
It’s been vacant for a long, long period of time, and now it’s freed up for us to build some much-needed community assets on it.”
