Another high-profile coach is exiting the Ballarat Football Netball League.
After four years in the job Brendan McCartney says he will not be in the coach’s box for the Roosters next year, he will coach out the season however.
“We have always known that a coach of Macca’s calibre would have opportunities beyond North Ballarat and, while we are sad to lose him, we are very supportive of him exploring full- time options to coach at a higher level,” said Club President Richard Start.
McCartney has taken the club to minor premiers in 2021, finals in 2022, the Grand Final in 2023 and the finals again this year.
McCartney brought plenty of AFL experience to North Ballarat having coached the Western Bulldogs and served as a development coach for Melbourne.
The move follows Chris Maple choosing to step down from the Ballarat Swans top job also at the end of this season.
