A Ballarat business leader is behind a statewide homelessness forum, set to be held in Melbourne tomorrow afternoon.
Executive director of the Creswick Woollen Mills, Boaz Herzfeld, has pulled the event together with the aim of matching grass roots charities with government and philanthropists.
Mr. Herzfeld says the demand on our charities is currently off the charts.
“For so many years, we’ve worked with frontline charities in our Ballarat area [like] the fantastic people at the Ballarat Foundation,” he said.
“It’s just occurred to us over the last couple of years the need out there from our community for frontline charity services is just growing and growing.”
The Creswick Woollen Mills are currently supporting the Ballarat Winter Appeal by donating hundreds of blankets.
