The coach of the Ballarat Swans has hailed last week’s Ballarat Football & Netball League games on ANZAC Day a ‘huge success’.
It’s the first-time matches have been played on the sacred day, with the Swans defeating Lake Wendouree in the inaugural game by 68 points.
Chris Maple says he’d like to see the ANZAC Day games continue.

“The reserves, seniors, netballers, everyone arm in arm lined up [was] quite emotional I think for a lot of people and a lot of servicemen were there with medals on after their services,” he said.
“Both clubs invested heavily in it, [and] it was a fantastic sight to see.”
