Hundreds of female soccer players will be heading to Ballarat this weekend for the Western United Cup.
Coming off the success of a debut girls-only tournament last year, the Cup will be held at the city’s regional soccer facility at Morshead Park.
Ranging from the under-9’s all the way up to under-21’s, upwards of 500 girls will participate in the tournament, making up around 50 teams and 27 clubs.

The event is expected to attract over 3,000 visitors to the city.
It’s the second time the Cup has been held in Ballarat, with Mayor of the City of Ballarat, Des Hudson, saying to see the tournament is going to be bigger and better is incredible.
He said he was proud to see the close relationship between the City and Western United flourish.
