Heading through Beaufort this long weekend? Traffic should be smooth!

There’ll be tweaks to traffic lights on the Western Highway in Beaufort for the Easter break.

The Department of Transport saying the changes to the traffic light phasing is aimed at helping keep vehicles moving.

The phasing changes will be in place at the intersection of the Western Highway and Lawrence Street, a move that was first trialled over the Labour Day long weekend in March.

Extra signage and traffic managers will also be on hand to keep things moving.

It comes after more than 60,000 cars travelled through the area last Easter.

The tweaks will be in place from Thursday afternoon through to Monday night.
