The Ballarat Swap Meet is at serious risk of being called off next year.
The event is the largest swap meet in the southern hemisphere, attracting between 10 and 15,000 people over the two days.
The 2022 meet was the last on the Airport Road site, with the board in consultation with people outside Ballarat to shift the venue.

Chairperson of the Swap Meet Board, Lindsay Florence, says in the city they simply can’t find suitable land mass of sufficient size and dimensions to run the event.
“Whilst we’re not completely dead in the water, if you had money to spare and put a bet on, I would suggest that you don’t bet on the Swap Meet being in Ballarat next year,” he said.
