The Ballarat Cycle Classic has achieved its highest fundraising total in the event’s 18-year history.
Despite the current challenges to cost of living, participants, sponsors and donors have raised $320,166 for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute.
Despite the number of participants dropping over the last two years, over $34,000 more in online donations were recorded this year, compared to 2024.
“This funding will help to support the ongoing research that we’re doing, the scientists, the equipment and the consumables that we need to do our experiments,” honourary director of the institute, Professor George Kannourakis said.
