A former Deputy Mayor of Ballarat has finally revealed her intentions ahead of Octobers local government elections.

“Decisions like this are fairly significant.”

“When deciding whether to run or not I have to weigh up other things that are going on in my life including my family and other work opportunities as well.”

“But after having a chat to my partner Carl, this is absolutely something that we are both supportive of me continuing to do,” Cr. Johnson said.

Meantime, the Victorian Electoral Commission are calling on interested Ballarat residents looking to run for council to get their applications ready.

The commission has refreshed an online Candidate Helper, which allows residents to pre-fill nomination forms before they’re submitted.
