The way we recycle our glass in Ballarat could potentially be about to change.
It still won’t be allowed in the yellow lidded recycling bin, however council may look at a curbside pick-up service.

Executive Manager of Waste and the Environment at the City of Ballarat, Les Stokes, says soon they’ll be asking the public for feedback.
“Obviously every service we introduce comes at a cost to our residents through their rates, so we need to be cognisant of people’s ability to fund those things.”

“We’ll also be looking at the accessibility of the service,” Mr Stokes said.
Council’s ‘Pass on Glass’ initiative whilst successful in terms of glass volume, has been criticised given glass can be heavy and a vehicle is usually required to transport it.
