CEO calls for end to Ballarat school crossing supervisor abuse

The abuse Ballarat’s 68 school crossing supervisors face has been revealed by council.

It comes after the City of Ballarat urged drivers to take more care around the city’s school zones, following two recent accidents involving students.

CEO of the City of Ballarat, Evan King, says the bad behaviour needs to stop.

“There’s a whole gamit,” he said.

“It goes from everything from quickly stopping in the middle of the road to let the kids out to not even obeying the school crossing supervisors’ signals [and] verbal abuse out the windows.”
