The Bridge Mall will welcome back its popular market tomorrow, as the end of construction work on its upgrades nears.
The Bridge Market will now be held in a new-look central event space on the first Saturday of each month, from 9am to 1pm.
The return marks the opening of the first stage of Bridge Mall’s redevelopment, with capping works over the 150-year-old bridge expected to be completed by the end of November before the Christmas trading period.
The official re-opening of the Mall is scheduled for December.
Mayor of the City of Ballarat, Cr. Des Hudson, has thanked all the mall traders for their patience during the construction.
“There’s always going to be disruption when you’re doing a project like this, but they have been with us every step of the way,” he said.
“We’ve tried to keep them informed every step of the way and I think what we’ve now got is something we can all be very proud of.”
