Ballarat’s Matt Short’s start to the year keeps on getting better, with the local working his way to the top of the Big Bash League’s Team of the Tournament.
Voted by the league’s eight head coaches, Short was named captain of the line-up after leading the Strikers into this weekend’s finals.
Matt received 8 votes, with teammate Chris Lynn coming in second place and the Perth Scorchers’ Aaron Hardie taking third.

Last Sunday, Matt made Big Bash League history after scoring the highest number of runs in a 10-match regular BBL season.
