A Ballarat councillor says the release of the updated ‘Ballarat Now and Into the Future’ wish-list will ensure both sides of politics have a clear understanding of what projects city leaders want.

Ahead of the federal election, initiatives on the agenda include $37m for a circular economy precinct and $88m for the duplication of Dyson Drive.

Cr Jay Morrison says he’s hopeful more projects will be funded, on the back of the success of the Eastwood Community Hub application last week.

“We have been campaigning on some of these for a significant time.”

“I think having all of the organisations coming together and being on the same page and being very clear is powerful, we’ve advocated on these projects in the past like Eastwood for instance.”

“That has come about because of our advocacy, this is just further advocacy to make sure that we get the rest of the projects,” Cr Morrison said.

Ballarat Now and Into the Future is a group of nine local organisations including the City of Ballarat, Federation University and Tourism Midwest Victoria and is advocating for eight projects.
