Ballarat’s short film festival Poco returns for its second iteration this Saturday night.
Around a dozen finalists will be screened at the Goods Shed, after organisers suffered a blow with the closure of Regent Cinemas last month.
Luke Keys from the festival says the community rallied to find them a new venue.
“[The closure] was sad and sudden for us, for the owners and everyone involved and we’re really hoping the lights can come back on at that venue soon. I think everyone would love that,” he said.
“We’ve been fortunate. We got our skates on and one thing that came out of [the closure] was the community spirit.”
