Ballarat named one of Australia’s most generous cities

Ballarat has been named one of the country’s most generous cities by fundraising website GoFundMe.

Based on donations per capita, Ballarat was one of two Victorian cities to appear in the top 10, beaten by Shepparton.

Bundaberg in Queensland was named Australia’s most generous city for 2023.

Regional Director for GoFundMe Australia, Nicola Britton, said there was a record number of donations on the platform this year.

She says Ballarat can be proud to be recognised on this year’s list, as should every person that started, benefited from or donated to a fundraiser.

3. Hervey Bay, Queensland
4. Mandurah, Western Australia
5. Bunbury, Western Australia
6. Mackay, Queensland
7. Shepparton, Victoria

9. Ballarat, Victoria
10. Tamworth, New South Wales
