Two special Ballarat gardens dating back to circa 1860 will be open this weekend for the very first time.

‘The Oaks’ at Lake Wendouree and ‘Craigie’ at Soldiers Hill will swing open their gates as part of an Open Gardens Victoria event.

Local landscape designer Paddy Milne, who’s worked on both, says it’s a privilege to be involved with gardens of such historic significance.

“It’s a proud moment.”

“Not only to be able to open the garden gates of these two gardens for the very first time, but to say that we’ve played a fairly significant role in their design and maintenance over the last three to four years is pretty special,” Mr. Milne said.

Adult tickets for each garden are $10 and can be booked via Trybooking.
