The City of Ballarat has moved into caretaker mode, ahead of next month’s local government elections.
Ballarat residents can expect to receive their ballot packs from October 7th, with voting closing at 6pm on the 26th.
Most council services will operate as normal during caretaker mode; however, restrictions will apply on council social media posts, amendments to major planning schemes and the adoption of policies.
It comes as the deadline looms for local government election nominations.
A number of familiar names have started to pop up on the VEC’s website, including former Mayor and Legislative Council Liberal MP Josh Morris, who has nominated for the Wendouree ward.
Former councillor Jim Rinaldi is also standing again in the North Ward, four years after he lost his seat on council.
