It’s been revealed the Art Gallery of Ballarat will close next year, but only for a handful of months.
The closure needed as a new $5.5 million air-conditioning system is installed.
It’s understood events offsite are planned during construction works.

The galleries director Louise Tegart says the upgrade will allow the best exhibitions and loans from around the world to come to Ballarat.
“Keeping the humidity and the temperature stable and constant in the gallery is really a critical part of we do in terms of managing and protecting our own collection,” she said.
