Alfredton drivers are going to need to be patient, with works at a busy intersection likely to stretch through until the end of the year.
The $1.5 million project is aiming to improve traffic flow on Learmonth Street between Cuthberts Road and Sturt Street.
The Department of Transport’s Michael Bailey says the works, once complete, should see less queuing on Cuthberts Road.
“It opens it up a fair bit, [it] changes some of the dynamics of the intersection including having turning lanes and a right-hand turning lane from Learmonth Street to Sturt Street, opening up Cuthberts Road a bit,” he said.
“We expect it will free things up as much as possible in that area.”
