The local community has raised a total of $120,000 as part of this year’s Ballarat Christmas Appeal.
Over the last two months, Ballarat residents, organisations and groups have donated money, gifts, toys and Christmas food to the appeal.
With donations going to Anglicare, Vinnies, Uniting Ballarat and the Salvation Army to help struggling locals, the money is the highest amount ever distributed to Ballarat charities through the appeal.
Donor Engagement and Development Manager at the Ballarat Foundation, Lucy Ibrahim, says the response to this year’s Christmas Appeal has been nothing short of incredible.
In a statement, she said every donation, whether it’s money, gifts, or food, is a testament to the compassion and kindness of our community.
