Media Release Alfredton Rotary are thrilled to be hosting the Retro Dinner Dance Fundraiser! President Malcolm Roberts explains “Dinner dances have been part of the Ballarat community for decades and Alfredton Rotary feel it’s time to bring them back…..with a retro twist!”

Part of the Ballarat Heritage Festival, the event is being hosted in one of Ballarat’s oldest and historic buildings, the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute, with a rich history in the heart of the city. The event will evoke a nostalgic journey through food, entertainment, dancing, drinks, and décor. Remembering our own youth, or parents and family friends that were visited who made similar dishes.

We will have all the favourites, including devilled eggs, vol-au-vents, prawn cocktail, curried sausages, apricot chicken, meat loaf and passion fruit and banana pavlova to name a few!

With décor to match the theme, we have curated crockery, glassware and linen to make this a night to remember.

There will a raffle spinning wheel with prizes collected from the era including tea towels, picnic hampers, linen, not to mention the pewter wine goblets!

We have entertainment by the renowned performer – Tina Turner – (Fabio Cattafi) Tina will put on a fabulous show for the audience with back up dancers and musical hits we all know and love! Tickets on sale now and selling fast!
