A dam on a Dereel farm, south of Ballarat, has been drained, as police continue their almost 12-year search for missing woman Lorrin Whitehead.

The search is based on intelligence that the remains of Ms. Whitehead may be located in the area.

The 42-year-old was last spotted leaving her home on the afternoon of February 8th, 2013.

She was then seen on CCTV buying a bottle of water, a card and a pen at a Bannockburn supermarket, with a witness reportedly seeing her enter the driver’s seat of a red 4WD around the same time in the town’s CBD.

Another witness reported seeing a red 4WD parked on the nature strip of Ms. Whitehead’s property over the weekend of her disappearance, despite Lorrin not owning a red 4WD.

Her bank accounts have remained untouched since she went missing, and her work phone was also found at her home.

Anyone with information on Lorrin’s disappearance is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
