The Chief Executive Officer of the City of Ballarat says alternative options it put forward for the temporary relocation of the train station’s bus interchange have been ignored.

However, CEO Evan King says other locations could have worked.

“All options have pros and cons.”

“When you move a bus interchange with that level of activity there’s also going to be some level of impact on the community and on users of public transport.”

“I suppose it’s trying to find the best solution for everybody, and we thought we had a number of options that could have been considered,” Mr. King said.

The temporary move of the interchange is to allow the $50m accessibility upgrade works to proceed at the railway station.
