Investigation into alleged RSL fund misappropriation leads to arrest

An investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds at the Ballarat RSL sub-branch has led to an arrest.

The alleged activity occurred between 2020 and 2023, with the RSL confirming past and present committee members and current sub-branch members are not the focus of police investigations.

President of the Ballarat RSL, Frank Nuccio, says they await the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

“We want to assure the Ballarat public, who have so generously supported veterans in the region over the years, that future donations will be safe to provide much-needed support for veterans in the region,” he said.

“Our veterans need that support more than ever before.”
