UFS, which operates Ballarat’s Priority Primary Care Clinic has today released data on the use of the facility.

It comes as the government says the 29 clinics across the state see on average 7000 patients each week combined, with half a million visits now recorded.

The Ballarat clinic has seen 28,468 patients since it opened, 38% of them children.

Close to half of all patients (almost 46%) say the PPCC kept them from going to a local Emergency Department.

Common presentations locally include cough, ear infections/ear pain, finger injuries, throat conditions and abdominal pain.

In related news, the state government this week said the clinics will now be known as Urgent Care Clinics to make it simpler for Victorians to know how and where to get the right kind of care.
