The former coach of the North Ballarat Rebels under-18 side has sung the praises of one of his former players, who’s just notched up an AFL milestone.
Jarrod Berry played his 150th match for the Lions yesterday against West Coast.
Brisbane took out the match, 16.10.106 to West Coast’s 14.9.93.
Gerard Fitzgerald says Jarrod, and his great mate Hugh McCluggage, always showed great leadership potential.
“To hear those players swear their allegiance to the Brisbane Lions footy club, to those who are looking after them and respect them by wanting to go on and continue to achieve whatever they’re capable of does not surprise me one bit in what I saw in those boys in their 17th [and] 18th year.”
