In an Australian first for frozen food company McCain, all meals produced at their Ballarat plant today will be donated to charity.

With the company dedicating their entire production line to the cause, local McCain staff will produce around 100,000 meals for Foodbank over 24 hours.

The food is valued at over $700,000 retail, with the meals helping people across the country struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.

Supply Chain Director for McCain Australia and New Zealand, Ross Fallon, said the company is very proud to support the initiative.

“It really sets the bar with some of the other larger manufacturers, and with anything like this it’s about gathering momentum,” he said.

“If everybody can just chip in a little bit, the sheer power of our industry can definitely make a difference in [helping] those that are in need.”
