16 former racing greyhounds will be put up for adoption in Ballarat tomorrow between 2pm and 3pm.
The Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club has organised a special adoption day to try to find the dogs a ‘fur-ever’ home.
The club’s manager Jodie Faralla says they’ve all been through The GAP training program and would make ideal pets.
“I’ve got a re-homed greyhound straight from the racing kennels to my place and she’s absolutely perfect.”
“I think once you’ve had a greyhound as a pet you wouldn’t go looking at another breed,” Ms. Faralla said.
Greyhounds can be adopted for a $100 donation fee which includes a lead, collar, rug, and membership to the club’s exercise yard, valued at $50.
