Member for Western Victoria, Joe McCracken, has been elected as the opposition whip in the legislative council.
The role is in addition to his position of shadow parliamentary secretary for regional economic development.
Ballarat based Mr. McCracken said he looks forward to making a larger contribution to the upper house team.

It comes as the State Government unveiled a refreshed cabinet earlier this week, with Eureka MP Michaela Settle keeping two parliamentary secretary roles.
