Ballarat developers are being asked to stump-up more cash, as the city continues to grow.
Central Highlands Water are lifting the developers charge from $1,500 per lot for water and sewerage, up to $4,000 over a 5 year period.
The water authorities Managing Director Jeff Haydon says he hopes the cost won’t be passed onto home buyers.

“One of the things the developers really value is at least having that clarity, in terms of making sure that they understand what those costs look like going forward in the next five years,” he said.
