Locals are being commended for their behaviour on the roads during the long weekend.
Victorian police launched Operation Regal on Friday in an effort to drive down the road toll during the weekend, targeting major roads that lead into tourist hotspots.
In the Ballarat service area, there were 21 drivers caught speeding, with 1 drink driver and 2 drug drivers caught by police.
However, there were zero fatalities or serious injury collisions in the region.
Senior Sargeant Paul Maslunka has thanked those doing the right thing on our roads.
“You’ve done it again for us. You’ve got us through another long weekend without significant trauma on our roads,” he said.
“Thanks to all the drivers that did the right thing [and] thanks to all the people that rang us and told us about drivers who weren’t doing the right thing, because we picked up a few of those as well.”
